Economic bonus tiles
There are planetary tiles that give bonuses for research, production, food, and influence. Why not tiles for economic bonus?

Don't forget the tiles for morale ![]()
As for economic tiles; aren't asteroids and moons (or rings, whichever of the two gives that bonus) enough bonusses? And don't forget trade.
Yes, GC2 also has bonus tiles for morale. It always seemed odd and unbalanced to me that there were no bonus tiles for economy.
I would agree to that. 3 kinds of bonus tiles 1x, 3x, and the one u almost never see the 7x.
I seen the 7x from research and manufacturing, but nothing else. I consider the agriculture bonus tiles my main source of income and influence, the more people there are the more influence.
However I only find 100% bonus for moral and 100% influence.
Neither. Moons and asteroids give manufacturing bonus, rings give research. There were no economic bonuses other than structures, passive tech bonuses, anomaly bonuses and green mining starbase resources.
Correct. GC2 had x1, x3, and x7 for research and manufacturing only. Farms had x1 and x3, and influence and morale had only x1.
I found economic side of the game rather lacking, I wished there was more way to make credits, however I think economic bonuses on tiles would work well and generally speaking would be great way to get lucky and find a way to increase the planetary economy.
Another issue is that we need the AI to take advantage of the tiles.
Brad has mentioned that there are many weaknesses in the GC2 AIs that he wants to do something about.
Has anyone seen anything posted by the SD Employees that show what the planet management screen is going to look like? If it is going to continue the concepts of GC2, then I hope Brad has this one on his list.
hm, I never used the food bonus tiles, or even built any farms. Even though a larger population provided more money and influence, I found it way too hard to keep them happy without devoting the rest of the planet towards entertainment, which severely cut down on its other uses.
What I would like to see is the ability to make one planet into a farming world, to ship the food to other planets to help increase their population and spread it around, to get a lesser benefit across all your planets which is easier to manage.
Food bonus tiles are kind of useless and irritating. The most annoying case is when the AI builds the Hyperion Matrix on a x3 food tile. 48 billion people...
They only get any real use if you don't upgrade beyond the 1st level of Xeno Farms.
Also, yeah the AI needs to use bonus tiles better. Once I grabbed a planet with a x7 research tile, only to find the previous owners had built an economic capital over it. That was really irritating.
I am kind of thinking they will redesign the tile bonuses completely. Make them actual resources rather then vague bonuses. Like a tile now might be rare tiny partials that increase your mineralization. Maybe resources that have more then one affect. Like a crashed dreadlord vessel that has diffren bonuses based on what you build on it. Build a science lab on it and maybe you unlock a restricted technology. Build a space port over it, and all ships built on this planet now have +1 to each attack types. Build a farm on it, and now that planet has a +10 to soldering.
