[1..12] Windowed mouse stuttering - W8.1 Pro x64

So I've just updated to Windows 8.1, updated ModernMix and Start8, and for whatever reason, when I have a modern UI application in windowed mode, whenever the mouse is over it, it stutters like hell. In fullscreen mode it's fine.

Anybody else having this issue?

What mouse do you have?

Would it be set to some massively high update mode?

I have a Microsoft Comfort Mouse 6000. I only use the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center, and neither in there or the Windows mouse settings is there an option for a high update mode, so I'm going to go with a no.

Is this with every app?  For example does it happen with the store app?

Yea, it happens with each one, but only when they're the highlighted window. When they're not, the mouse doesn't stutter when over the top.

Hi, just to note I'm also having the same problem on Win 8.1 x64. Whenever any Win8 app is running windowed the mouse just goes nuts, but I don't think its just the mouse - all input (keyboard too) seems to just take ages to respond, and its just while the window has focus and is hovered over. Once you switch to full screen its fine.

What graphics card do you have and whats your cpu usage like at the time?

I have a Radeon 7850HD. CPU usage was around 25% and didn't spike when I opened or closed a Modern app.

Which process was using that cpu, as 25% on a quad core would be a single core maxed out.

Sorry that was bad example - on that particular occasion I was running my development app and that was utilising a a lot of CPU. Without that running its more like ~16%. More significantly, the CPU usage didn't change before or after the Modern app was run.

I've currently got a 560ti.

As an example, my CPU usage is currently at around 9/10%. When I launch a modern app it rockets up to around 25%, but after several seconds it settles back down again. Still a stuttering mouse whenever over the window when it's selected. The app itself isn't affected/doesn't slow down etc. Animations display correctly and smoothly.

So I found the cause of my problem, as it was also causing issues with other things on my system.

It was 1UP Industries' Bins application. After uninstalling it, everything works perfectly fine! Apologies for the inconvenience.

I have the same app and just disabled it and everything is working for me too! Also, apologies for the inconvenience and good spot stardustrider!
