Comodo/Ice Dragon help

I need some Comodo help here :).

A few weeks ago, someone mentioned using Ice Dragon as a new browser. Because I am always looking for a better browser, I downloaded it.

The issue is that it seems like Comodo is insidious (I had to delete it a few years ago for similar reasons). The invasive measures are twofold:

1) It gives me no choice over my search engine. If I type a search term in the omnibar that it does not recognize, it brings up a DNS error and other terms. It also shows me that it is searching for the term using Yahoo, which I do not prefer. To see what I mean, search for "brownian" (as in brownian motion). Do you have more success than I (no DNS warning and/or using Yahoo as the search engine)?

2)The Comodo security measures have installed themselves into all of the Firefox browsers. If I use FF or Pale Moon, the same behavior is exhibited. I have no problem with Comodo exerting itself with Ice Dragon, but it is very presumptuous to install itself on my other browsers.

Also, I am getting a pop up now about buying other Comodo packages, etc; both when I log on and at other times when I am using my PC. I have no problems with Comodo trying to make a profit, but these inopportune pop ups are not welcome. I downloaded the free version of their software; if they want to advertise to me via their browser, that is fine. Taking over my desktop is not so fine.

Does anyone know how to solve this? Thanks in advance.

Doesn't sound right at all, Flagyl.

I use that browser and use duckduckgo as my search engine. Nothing from IceDragon infiltrates other browsers.

I think you should use a few of the online scanners to go through your computer. Also, clean out your browser cookies/history and cache at least.

Kaspersky has an online scanner...also, Antimalware Bytes has free software to scan your computer.

I would imagine your issues are with having multiple browsers installed based basically on the same code. If you have Firefox, Pale Moon and Comodo IceDragon installed, you are no doubt going to have issues. If you have let's say Comodo IceDragon, Chrome and Internet Explorer installed, then you probably won't have any issues.

I have IceDragon and Internet Explorer installed, and when doing a search using IceDragon, I am not having any of the issues you stated. Everything works just fine.

Sounds like they're buttin' heads.

Sorry...I've been away for a bit. Thanks for the replies, guys.

@Uvah-yes. I believe that the Comodo code is "leaking" (I'm obviously a computer science genius :) ) into all FF code...which is annoying. I am leaning to deleting Ice Dragon and all the traces of Comodo on my PC.

Thanks again to everyone.
