Describe your empire

What r u really like.

I was thinking about what my civilization was like. I would say it was a sleeping giant, or pre world war 1 united states. Demilitarised with a really good economy and industry. If I play the Krynn or Torians I have superior influence, My military techs r usually behind everyone to almost non existant until they start threatening me. I I used to play a small self sufficient empire that was last in economics or industry. I was just thinking about that. I was wondering about how u would compare your empire to real world countries. Can u differeintate between what u shoot for and end up.

My races tend to be the same, building up a powerful economic structure but neglecting serious military build up until either a war breaks out or until we get ahead enough in the technology curve to regularly field ships much larger and better equipped than the nearest equiv-tech neighbours... and then depending on the situation and who's been annoying me with threats and extortion the 'sleeping giant' might just decide to stop napping because of people poking it rather than a swift Pearl Harbour-esque awakening.

Do not poke sleeping giants... we're not morning people.

That said, occasionally I like to mix it up and concentrate on military first and ravage the galaxy before anyone else can put up a defence. It depends on my race and the situation and stuff.

In Galciv2, I always play a custom race called the New Earth Confederacy.

"Descendants of the first Terran colony which seceded from the Alliance in 2184, the NEC has re-emerged on the galactic scene to stake its claim to power through commerce, industry, and the monopolization of interstellar trade guilds."
