Resetting defaults?

Hi,

I've just played my first couple of games and I'm unsure as to how I can reset defaults for my next game. For example, in my first game I was Terrans and renamed planets as I colonised them. Now, in my new game I am Terrans and I see my alien opponent has my old planets Dalwhinnie Prime, Archie's Place etc etc. After several games of it doing that the galaxy will be fill of a weird mish-mash of my old games' planet names.

 

By the same token, after fiddling with the various options at the start of the game (rarity of stars, cluster patterns, size of galaxy etc) I can't see how to reset the options there to default.

 

Any ideas please?

i have never seen the game re-use my planets i have named, no clue why this would happen. I have never completed a game so far, i always seem to restart at some point.. so no clue if it is suppose to work that way or not. 

 

as for the main settings,  I think default was something like  common, stars, habitable planets, planets,  Abundant for asteroids, and anomalies. tight clusters, tech rate normal, extreme planets occasional.  Perhaps.. something around those lines..

there could be possibly a user.config file someplace that you could delete to reset it. if you do try something like that, be sure to back up the file just incase.
