My custom ship files

Due to ongoing issues with there not apparently being a patch for my CD version of the game anywhere to be found it looks like I will soon be forced to download the entire game from steam (ergh) just to get the latest version (because having a link to a patch is just too damn convenient these days...)

 

I wanted to make copies of the files that store my own ship designs so I don't have to re-do them all again. Can someone tell me which files I need to make copies of please?

The retail/Gamestop and Steam versions of the game store your ship data files in the same location.  A new installation won't wipe out your existing data folder.  When you've finished downloading and your game is installed and registered, you'll be good to go, no backup required.
