Windows 8.1 and Mail app

ModernMix does not seem compatible with the mail app. I have version 1.12 but when I open mail on windows 8.1 loads of windows open and most of them are blank.

 

 

Any ideas?

Hmm, that's not normal for ModernMix 1.12.  It would happen with 1.0 on Windows 8.1, but 1.12 should have addressed that.

Could you e-mail [email protected] so they can collect more information please.

I am having the same problem.  Brand new HP only had 2 weeks.  Running windows 8.  I updated to 8.1.  Mail opened into 2 o3 windows, but then locked up.  Also, other apps would not open from the Windows 8 screen.  Uninstalled Modern Mix and then tried to download again to make sure had the newest version.  Then it would not install kept saying Not responding.  Also, had to uninstall Stardock too, because all was locking up.  Everything fine now that they are uninstalled, but I miss using them.  Had 8 on HP envy x2 and Stardock and ModerMix no problems.

What do you mean by you had to uninstall Stardock?

Stardock is the name of the company not any product.  Do you mean Start8, ObjectDock, Stardock Central, or some other Stardock app?

Your initial issue sounds like you had an older version of ModernMix and so installing the update should have worked, but the not responding issue points to something else causing issues.  I would recommend contacting [email protected]

I am having similar issues and am working with [email protected].  Prior to contacting Stardock support, I uninstalled / rebooted / re-installed ModernMix - the lock-ups no longer happen but I still get multiple mail app buttons on the Windows taskbar.

I am using Windows 8.1 Professional with Media Center, 64-bit.

 I have the same problem after installing windows 8.1 Pro 64bit, version of ModernMix is 1.12. Mail opens in 3 windows, 2 of them are blank and one contains Mail... It is working, only that 2 blank windows cant be closed otherwise it will crash completely so its rly annoying that i have to leave them opened... Realy need to be fixed...

Can you please check the file signing date on mmix_64.exe (right click the exe in the modernmix folder, pick properties, then digital signatures).

The mail issue should be resolved with ModernMix 1.12 so I am wondering if files are not being replaced correctly.

Also are you opening it from the Windows 8 Start screen or from a desktop shortcut/Start8/taskbar?  I assume it is also set to open windowed.

It is strange... the version of that file was 1.0.9 even when ModernMix said i have 1.12, so i tried to completely uninstall it, reboot and try to install it again and viola, it works! I dont know why, but that files wasnt replaced as they should be...
