Founder vs Founder Elite clarification needed

The founder edition costs 39.99 The FAQ says:

Q: What is the Founder’s Program?A:The Founder's Program is a special early access program that allows you to participate in the creation of Galactic Civilization III. Founders get access to the beta program when it launches this winter and receive a special Founder’s forum badge, as well being able to purchase the game at a reduced cost ($39.99 rather than the full $49.99 retail price).

Which i can read as:  I pay 39.99 now for beta access, and when the game comes out i pay another 39.99 for the game (total 79.98)

I would assume the 39.99 for the founder edition is including the base game (it would make sense) but then further down the FAQ:

Q: Does the Founder's Elite Edition come with the base game too?A:Of course.

Which  could be read as a yes for founder's elite and a no for founder.

Can someone confirm that the base game is included in the founder edition. (although i probably go for the elite edition anyway)

I'm pretty sure the $39.99 gets you beta access and the game.  The $99 gets you alpha plus beta access, and the game with all expansions.

You get exactly whats on the page below. The lists of stated benefits for advance purchase are as stated. If you do neither, you pay the full regular up front price when its released.

Buy advanced licences as shown, you get the benefits as shown - no further dosh needed. Except for the $39.99 deal you pay for each published release after initial release. The $99 deal gives you free access for life 0f the supported game including base game and any and all upgrades/new versions .... whatever phrase you want to use. Pay the top wack, you get the rest for the life (upgrades the whole KaBoodle) of the game for life and no further dosh needed.

yeah, i would think so too, but if i find it unclear, others might find it unclear also. Base game is explicitly mentioned for elite edition, while it only says discount for the normal one.

I read it as Founders edition gives you the beta version only w/ a founders badge for $39.99 if you want the game it's another $39.99, if you want DLC's it's another $4.99 to $19.99 (prices are guess's only pure speculation on my part) expansion is another $29.99-$39.99 total cost for game as follows...

Founder (Beta) $39.99

Game              $39.99

DLC x 5           $49.95

Expansion x 2  $69.98

Total              $199.91

Or buy Founders Elite edition get to name a star woot! (mind you you could alter stars names in Galactic Civilizations 2 but, this would be in real game) get all DLC's and Expansions plus the game, get Beta and Alpha access pay $99.99

Founder Elite  $99.99    (Alpha, Beta, Star Naming)

Game             $0.00

DLC                $0.00

Expansion        $0.00

Total              $99.99  (save 50%)

https://www.galciv3.com/store[/quote] I was looking for this page, this is where the unclearity started for me. It says for founders

$10 OFF

Get the full game for $39.99 instead
of the regular $49.99 price

You could read that as a discount you get AFTER you buy the founders edition

It's not. The Founders Edition is buying the game (and beta access), and you're paying $10 less than it will be at release.

The Founders Elite version is the same thing, and alpha access, and naming a star, and the DLC included.
