Just rented and watched Pacific Rim

...and I want my money back.

It was pretty...but...damn was it stupid. Nothing in there made logical sense, least of all the robots.

I'm all for suspension of belief but...damn...

I got that from the trailer.  Were you expecting anything different?

Real science fiction (differentiated from "sci fi") is a rarity in film. :(

Demanding logic from Kaiju Eiga? Where is the logic in that? o_O

I'm all for movies, that make you think (2001: A Space Odyssey and Blade Runner are among my favourites), but expecting this from Kaiju Eiga is misplaced. They are primarily about the visual spectacle (the fights and the destruction). Only a few go beyond this and raise some issues (like my favourite movie, the original Gojira).

In any case, what has this topic with GalCiv 3 to do again?

It's not about deep thought nor intellectual conundrums. 'Twas about how problems were being resolved and occuring. Was just...dumb.

And it has loads to do about galciv3. Just think about it... ;)

Because in GalCiv III, you will be able to recruit giant monsters to fight alongside your marines.  Godzilla provides some great fire support!

I'm being silly of course, but who knows what those Drengin might come up with.  They enslave most other races, so why not the occasional giant Turtle that is capable of flying at Mach 1...

Be silly all you want, that is an awesome idea! Random kaiju attack could make a fun event.

Gamera? Pah! The Torians will sick Daimajin on the Drengin to enact bloody revenge. He may not be as big as the other kaiju, but he is unstoppable.
