Diplomacy in FE:LH is basically like this, if You're equal in strength or powerful than everyone, everyone will hate you except for the shrimps who is too busy brown nosing until you're about to win the game then they will hate you.

If you sign a non-aggression pact then they will be friendly with you longer than normal and if you can keep the pacts up without forgetting when they expire. I think they will stay friends.
