I’ll pay once - I refuse to pay again

This looks like a great game and $1.99 makes it a no brainer. Imagine my surprise when I found reviews saying that the game requires additional purchases beyond the $1.99. Nope. No way. When an application looks good I’ll pay upfront but I refuse to pay and then get charged again. This stinks of Electronic Arts ripoff-ery. I won’t play.

Give this app an honest price and take out the in app purchases and I’m all over it.

The game doesn't require additional purchases. There are in-app purchases available for things like additional gold and such, but it's not inhibiting the gameplay or functionality.

The next update will help reduce your concerns :) That being said, we never intended the in-app purchases to be mandatory or a large part of the game. They're just there for convenience.
