I have a question... how does one find the reg key when one has misplaced the book with the key on it???

You bought a box and lost the key? If you registered on Stardock it should still be there, and if you have LH on Steam it should be there. (the accounts, not the key itself, so hopefully you can do email recovery etc.)

I moved and packed the box somewhere but had the disk in my comp so I still have the game but I don't remember wut box the case is in

assuming you REGISTERED your eWOM(the only elemental that HAS or HAD a retail box(dvd case)), you should be able to log into the download page(https://store.stardock.com/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/myaccount/products) with the email address you registered the game with and your stardock password, and on the download page you should either see  the serial numbers for your stardock purchases OR a show Serial Numbers link which when clicked on will show all the serial numbers/install keys for all the REGISTERED stardock products.
