ModernMix 1.11

Speed

Thanks for the latest update.

Only problem is that MM once again has become slow to open modern apps.

Perhaps you can add an option to the red close X, so you can close modern apps like windows 8.1 does.

1: When you move the mouse from top to button, the app remains in the taskbar/memory (gives very fast new start)

An option that will close like this with the red X

2: Only if you hold the left click down for a few sec. the app close completely down (give slower new start)

An option that will close like this, with the red X.

As far as I can see, MM can only close the apps completely. The option to keep the apps in the Task Switcher does not make it open as fast as Windows 8,1 can/does when keeping the apps in memory.

I disagree with the proposed change. The behavior of the Close button in an app should be consistent with the behavior of the Alt-F4 shortcut -- which, in the case of Metro apps, fully closes them.

Furthermore, changing the behavior of the Close button depending on length of press creates unpredictable behavior -- unlike the grab-pull-wait gesture, for which Microsoft had freedom to do new things, there is already a precedent for how users expect the Close button to be used, and adding to its behavior is likely to disrupt that familiarity when users encounter new behavior they don't understand -- which is not exactly something you want to do with an application whose whole purpose is effectively to make things more familiar =)

To implement functionality for which there is no precedent, it would be acceptable to utilize UX elements for which there is also no conflicting precedent.

Possible options:
- Option in MMix settings to configure Close button / Alt-F4 as either Close (default) or Tombstone.
- Alt-F4 additional modifier (i.e. Ctrl+Alt+F4) to Tombstone, while Alt-F4 continues to behave as-is.
- Overlay button to Tombstone.
