While I'm at it, I don't think Ongr the Unbound should give the same sword as the final Arena of Slakhanan fight.

That sword is horrible either way. I usually vendor it for the sweet 400 gildar.

I could see it being useful situationally.  For one big fight or something but not a day to day thing.

Why's it gotta be -100% experience?   Why not -75% or something where you *might* consider using it?

You still get XP if you have bonuses (e.g. potential), but yeah I agree, not a very nice feature.

Really?  The couple times I've tried it's come down to 0 xp.

say the battle is worth 100 xp x 15 potential = 115 XP if you take away 100% (115) = 0  no?

Depends on the formula. Say:

BaseXP * (Pos.Mod. - Neg.Mod.) = Total XP

100 XP * (115% - 100%) = 15 XP

But, I haven't used it for some time. Gonna have to retry.

EDIT: Did a few fights with the sword and did receive some xp & even leveled. Max received was 44 XP for a fight against Lord of the Flames & friends.

If that's right then it couldn't be less clear from the description because if, say in real life, if you lose 100% of your money, you are going to end up with 0 money.

Last time I checked such things, the bonuses were purely additive (meaning experience_multiplier = 1 + bonus1 + bonus2 + ... +bonusN - penalty1 - penalty2 - ... - penaltyM, minimum of 0, and I think there's a maximum somewhere around 2 or 3). So if you do have e.g. Potential (+0.15) and Scythe of the Void (-1.0), you'll get 15% of the experience a champion without any bonuses would have received. However, it's been quite some time since I checked this, so it may have changed.
