Modding Question?

Is there anyway of eliminating / editing out parts of the UI? In particular I'm looking to remove the bottom left hand little bar that show's each races influence across the galaxy (a multi-coloured bar). This is a question for ToA.

I ask only because I like playing the game where it's like you've only just reached the space-age - you don't know what's out there. Unfortunately this bar kinda screws it all up because one quick glance and you know who's currently on the map and how well they're doing from a distance. I was hoping there was a way to edit this part of the UI without completely butchering the UI. Any help would be appreciated.

It is possible to edit the UI, but I don't know to what extent, as I never tried it. The necessary files are in the .dxpack-format. You need DesktopX to make changes to them. However, Stardock no longer sells this program.

MabusAltarn edited the UI in his mod. He could probably tell you more about what is possible.
