Sword Of The Stars: Ground Pounders

A hex-based sci-fi strategy game featuring the tanks, aircraft and infantry of the Sword of the Stars universe. This is a cross platform card wargame for pc and android (possible for mac, ios, and linux devices too if it makes it stretch goals or later down the road if it doesn't).

You can play your turn and send your info to a buddy and when they get their turn done they send their info to you so you can easily handle playing the game at your convenience. Campaign, scenarios, skirmish, ai, 2 player, human, hiver and tarka armies.

I'm partial to the SotSverse, and I really liked the Pit (KP's most recent game). Anyway, I like the options that are present in the Alpha demo and the game is currently fun for me- with more features I anticipate even more enjoyment. The ability to play up to five MP games asynchronously at the same time on any of the supported platforms seems guaranteed to ensure a diverse community if it catches on.  

Backed, and I hope they make their goal!

They switched back to Indiegogo site, they set the goal to 20k. Kickstarter made under 22k for 42k goal. So making it should be easier this time. Indigo has a option even if they get under goal they still make it. The Pit was just over half funded goal and was their fastest selling game to date so all is good.

I don't know why, this game should be right in my wheel house, yet I cannot get through more than a couple turns in the demo before i get completely bored and quit.

Ground Pounders are running the last lap at IndieGoGo, so close yet not quite there.

 

In case you don't check the project daily, there is an interview with scenario designer Shane Lazarus among the updates. He discusses some of the things and thinking that goes into creating Ground Pounders scenarios.

This is it, the project only lasts for some 40 hours more. Just a note to those who tried to contribute through Kickstarter and are not otherwise familiar with this crowdsourcing stuff; your pledge at Kickstarter was never deducted from your account (because the project did not meet its goal) and your pledge was not automatically transferred to IndieGoGo campaign. If you want to see the project to be successful and Kerberos to only hand over 4% to IGG, you need to pledge at IndieGoGo. I wouldn't be posting this if there was not 200 people who wanted to support this game through Kickstarter and are missing at IndieGoGo.

You being one of them or not, it is not too late to join in! Remember, when your MP foes will think you are at your most vulnerable (taking a... seat... in the toilet), you will be able to plot devious strategies. :)
