What Category to upload to?

Animated Desktop Icons, Gadgets etc.

I have a question.

I have desktopx made weather gadgets, a date and time gadget, clocks, and animated icons. All made with desktopx. Do I upload these to desktop gadgets, desktop x widgets, desktop x objects?

You misunderstand.

I'm not asking if those are the correct categories, I'm asking which one?

They go in the Gadgets category. :)

Many thanks!

To go further, based on my recent refreshing with desktop x, it should be like this, right?:

.exe's are gadgets and go to gadgets category?

.exe's that only run under desktop x go to widgets?

.dxpack's are Objects and go to objects category?

sorry, it's been a while since I worked with Desktop X, but am now uploading gadgets made

a few years ago when Desktop X was giving me fits (before 4.0 Pro).

Thanks

Correct!   Gadgets to gadgets library. Icons to DesktopX Objects library. Widgets to widgets library.

Icon shouldn't be a exe.  o_O

These are icons that point to windows system folders such as My Computer, that are .exe's. You run them once, then they will run with windows every time you start up if you choose. They replace the desktop icons in windows.

If they are exe files, they're either widgets or gadgets and should be in that category. objects are dxpacks.

LOL. Kinda like Tomato or Tomoto.

so even though they are actually ICONS, they launch as an EXE so are considered Gadgets, or if exe's that only run under desktop x, widgets. Got it. and thanks for clearing this up for me gents!

There is nothing showing in the moderation queue for your user nick.

What gallery section did you upload it to?

We have been receiving some questions about moderation from both new and established users.  I wanted to take a few moments to answer some of the common questions, and give you a chance to ask questions that I will answer in a later post.

Why was my skin approved later than others, even though I submitted before them?

Skins are not moderated in order of their submission.  Once a skin is uploaded it is placed in a moderation gallery to be looked at by the moderators.  Some skins take longer for a variety of reasons such as waiting to receive more opinions on the skin, or to verify a permission, etc.  We try to get skins through as fast as possible, but we have a limited staff, and although they do phenomenal work, only so much can be done at a time.

There is nothing pending moderation in either of those Gallery sections.
