Help For a Community Member?

Friend in need.

Hey skinning community members!

Once again I have come to ask for help for a friend of ours who is in need.

We all realize that times are hard for everyone and not everyone can help. So please don't feel like I'm asking you to help if you are bad off yourselves.

I am, however asking that anyone who can, and wishes to, help Wizard1956 with a small donation, please PM him, or myself for more info.

He and his wife are both without income, any at all, and they are looking at eviction. Their rent will accrue a $30 late fee every 5th day that they're late. On day 10, the water gets cut off. They own the trailer, so even if the get evicted, they'll still have to pay lot rent until they can move the trailer. And trailer moving is expensive.

They are very close friends of Mine and Lisa's, and we are trying to get our church to help, My inlaws are pledging some money, but in total, I need to help Wiz raise $281.00. I have asked my Pastor if we could hold a special offering, or maybe I could raffle off some of my tools, or something.

OK, all that said, I'm writing this because Wizard1956 feels badly, knowing that everyone has problems of their own, and that yall were so good to him a few winters ago. He can't bring himself to ask.

Ok guys, last time I did this I got bad comments and flack from disgruntled members. I am willing to risk that to help someone I call a best friend.

Anyone wishing to help, please do. Anyone not wishing or not able to help, please don't feel like you'll be judged if you don't. You won't.

Again, we all know that many people are in bad shape.

We all came together in the past to help Wiz, and Kona, and Uvah. I'm sure there have been more that this community has helped.

Again, please know that I'm only asking for help from those who can, and want to, and I don't mean to guilt anyone or anything like that.

Any flack can be directed at me...lol... :P .

Please PM me or Wizard1956 if you have questions.  Post here if you just wanna tell Wiz you'll send good thoughts, or whatever you might wanna say to him.

In case anyone is wondering what Doc is shopping about, I started a new job today!!!  It's a small gas station in Bloomington, IL. with a mostly neighborhood customer base. Busy enough to not be boring but relaxed enough for an old guy like me. ;) It will still be a climb out of the hole we're in, but our odds of getting out of it before winter just got a lot better.

A lot  of the credit goes to my friends here at WC and the power of positive thinking, group style. Thanks again for all the support and encouragement. Y'all are a great bunch of folks.     5* 5*

Just looking for an update on how Wizard and co are doing. Hope all is well.

Wiz and co are both working and doing much better. Still a bit of catching up to do, but doing better.

Wiz has been working 7 nights a week at his new job, which is why he's been a tad scarce here.

I wish folks would do something for Po'Smedley (Noah).

He's in a bad state and needs everyone's help.

Doc, get Po's paypal info, and I'll do a thread for him? Or you could do one, as long as it gets done.

PM me.

I really must aplogize for not dropping back in for an update. The one thing I had so much of, free time, is at a real premium right now. Initially there were only two employees working the station, myself and one other. The normal workforce is four. Needless to say, I got some heavy duty overtime in the first three weeks until they finally got more people and a decent manager that knows the gas station business. He and I have been flogging the business back into shape.  It doesn't pay much over minimum wage but I really enjoy the job. (plus the air conditioning is one thing that is working well) ;)

Besides working the register, I've been doing a top to bottom inspection of the property plus troubleshooting and maintaining some badly neglected equipment and real estate. The next big project will be a complete reset of the store, along with new displays and signage. The previous owner ran it for 16 years and I think he gave up caring much about it 6 years ago or more. So far, I haven't blown anything up or gotten the EPA involved.... a real plus for my intended long term employment. ;)

I wouldn't be where I am now without all the support I've gotten from my friends here at WC, and you can be sure I will be paying it forward. I've had to purchase a second vehicle (a '97 S-10 pickup) so the wife can still work, as our schedules overlap. It has left me low on funds atm, but I'm going to be on solid footing after the next couple of paychecks.

Count me in on helping Po'
