Rebellion Asking For Forbidden Worlds To Run GalaxyForge Map

Downloaded Rebellion from Steam Summer Sale a couple days ago. Awesome game, found GalaxyForge made it even better. Made a map, worked out where to stick it in and proceeded to load the game. Shock horror the Single player menu says I need Forbidden Worlds DLC to play the map!

There is a special place in heaven for all them Marketing guys I swear.

Can a kind soul please point out to me what needs to be removed to make my map vanilla Rebellion ?

Random planets are probably the culprit. It may want to randomly generate DLC planets. It doesn't look like you have any ferrous, greenhouse, oceanic and/or barren planets (I don't know their GalaxyForge icons)

Or, you could spend the absurd amount of $5.00. I mean, you did probably save more than that on your purchase since it was on sale but the choice is yours.

Thanks for the reply WAM

DLC was $1 yesterday T.T but I wanted to give the game a go first y'know.

New question:

How do I give ownership to militia?

The map is 2v2 and I want to create a buffer between the 2 sides by placing militia colonies between them. Not just militia ships but an active building colony. Double clicking on planets bring up the edit box where I can place different things in them "if owner is militia" but I can't find where to give militia ownership since the planet details only let me give it to the 4 players.

I don't think that can be done since the militia isn't an active player per se. They just sit in their gravity well and wait until someone comes for them to attack as far as I can tell, similar to you putting ships in a gravity well with a gravity well wide auto attack radius and then not doing anything, ever.

It is possible, just not in Galaxy Forge. You need to open the map in notepad after you make it in Galaxy Forge and manually set the owner to "RandomMilitia".

1. Open the group editor on desired planet.

2. Disable the use default template checkbox (unless you want the default ships appearing).

3. Create a new group with all the ships and/or structures (if you want the militia to own this planet) you wish.

4. Set the if Condition to either always and the Spawn for "NoOwner"

5. Now, save the map and go to the folder where it is saved. Right click on the map you made and open it with Notepad.

6. Scroll/search through the file to find the group you made, and change the NoOwner parameter to RandomMilitia.

7. If you added structures, set the colonize chance for that group to 1 as well.

You should only do this after the map is pretty much made, since further edits in Galaxy Forge may erase this change and you'll be forced to do it again.

As for your original issue, I'd think the random planets would be fine (can't test them myself since you can't turn the DLC off). Did you by chance add any planet bonuses unique to the DLC?

yep, randoms were fine. I had an oceanic somewhere in there that needed to be taken out.

I'll try the ninja-hack later. cheers GoaFan

goafan, I have created my randomised very heavy random militia templates IN galaxyforge, and without actually setting the planet owner to RandomMilitia I just included one OR more coloniser ships in the spawned ships for the GW, then the resident militia repeatedly re-colonise WHILE the coloniser ship(s) are alive and the planet loses the colony from superweapons OR other causes, and I usually set the heavy militia to 'noowner' spawning for the template.

and I use my very heavy militia templates for exactly what exvidus stated they want the militia to do ie block smaller attacks from passing the blocking worlds

and my very heavy militia randomly at map loading spawns from 1 to 10 of EACH ship and structure in the GW (BUT there is ONE issue with these GWs, more than 5 or 6 in a map WILL cause 'slideshowitis'(or one or less  screen updates per second) for the map even ON beast computers with very high overclocking and this can NOT be fixed by making the planet owned by the militia)
