[1.2][SUGGESTION] Unit design for the Gilden "Warrior"...

The warrior default design for Gilden has the Chainmail proficiency, There is no reason for this since Gilden (default Gilden) has no chainmail or access to chainmail armor. Might I recommend a removal of that skill from the warrior design. Maybe add another skill. It seems to be a holdover when mauls and hammers were two handed.

Also, whenever a player selects the chainmail proficiency it should be removed if the faction has the light-plate skill, similar to the plate skill.

   <Prereq>
    <Type>RestrictedAbilityBonusOption</Type>
    <Attribute>LightPlate</Attribute>
    <Target>Player</Target>
   </Prereq>

Adding this tag to the ArmorProficiency1, removes the option from the list, since the player shouldn't choose this if they are playing with light plate.

Furthermore, let us not forget the NoArmor ability, where the player shouldn't be able to select either of these abilities when that faction trait is selected.

In my 35 year career as a software developer, I have only once met someone who, employed as a tester, was so motivated that he read the source code and tried to find and solve the bugs he found.  Unfortunately he died of cancer 5 years ago.

Perhaps that says more about the companies that I've worked for than the people, but whatever, I salute you, parrottmath, you are one talented fellow!

Thanks, I was thinking about a career change.

If you create a faction with both Light Plate and Masterwork Chainmail, will that cause problems with your suggested fixes? Because if Light Plate removes chainmail proficiency and Masterwork Chainmail removes plate proficiency, and neither causes an armor proficiency to be re-enabled, you can make a faction which theoretically can make armor but which can't use it.

Also make sure they have beards... It's kinda their thing.

Some of their units like the Sons of the Forge I believe don't.

Those two choices should be disjoint (which is simple to do), but yes that could create a problem.

I suppose the easiest solution is to leave it alone and allow the player to make poor choices when choosing light plate.

edit: I forgot about the champion armor, which requires plate proficiency and is better than master chain. Thus, I revised the original post as well as this one.

I did a slight oversight. The champion armor requires plate mail armor, so it is only an issue when one chooses light plate, to remove the chainmail option when one chooses light plate.

On top of the warrior I noticed another Ironeer unit using the chain armor proficiency, although this is an AI unit only

Unit_Ironeer_AI2 - Gilden's Flame

Probably should switch the ability to ArmorProficiency2
