WB 8.0 / skin studio

startmenu font colors

hi there,

not sure if its a bug or im doing something wrong here. I want to change the text-color for for Lefthand- side start-menu. So i go to the "Text"- Section for the Lefthand side category : programs list. i changed the "Text-colour" property and saved + applied skin, but fontcolor did not change. The background is, i want to use different font colors on left-hand side when either in "Programs List" or in the "All Programs"- Mode.

1. What skin are you modifying?

2. What OS.

3. Even experienced skinners like me have a hell of a time getting the startpanel text colors to do exactly what we want.

Pictures of the startpanel section open in skinstudio will help me help you.

try the item mouseover font color - normal for the left side. be aware though that this will also change the jump list text color.

the start menu left side text color changes the arrow color.

not sure with the rest.

@gmc2: that worked, but now the text in all-programs mode is white too. the thing is, i want to use 2 different colors for start-menus left side.

White for normal left view with the recent programs and Black for "All Programs" -View.

you may/may not be able to do that but you could change the background color of the menu to a darker color.

I tried to get the result you wanted and failed....which is why the skin author did the all programs mode in dark....not white like you've changed it to. ;)

To change Textcolor in Allprograms menu: Edit startmenu/Programslist-Text tab-state to modify:unused ignore  :sun:

Clarification: You can thereby have different textcolors on the different places (Programslist & Allprogramsmenu)

Set the left item mouseover image text colors, (and right if used) to OS Default. Then set the colors you want on the programs list and/or places list images. Works here just fine.
