Help needed for adding capital ship classes.

I have been trying to significantly increase the number of different capital ships. Unfortunately, there is only room for 9 different ship classes on the elite ship construction page. As a result I tried moving some of the ships onto the construction pages of the frigates. This, however, causes a minidump.

So I'm at a loss right now. Is 9 really the maximum for buildable capital ships in the game? I know I could try making some of them titans but I would really like to avoid doing that. Is there anyway to fool the game into accepting capital ships as frigates or expanding the pages of the capital ship construction yards somehow? Maybe adding a subsegment to the capital ships like the frigates haves frigates, cruisers and now corvettes also.

Would be greatful for any ideas on this thank you!

Yes, 9 max. I never tried, but I think you cant have and entity type capital ship in a frigate spot, You would need to make a new entity type frigate and put the mesh, weapons, and all the other stuff in there. No you cant just change the second line either, load up a capital and a frigate in notepad++ and use the compare feature.

All the pages are hardcoded and only have room for 9 buttons  :annoyed:

Thanks once again myfist0 for your help. Frigate entities cannot be made to level like capital ships can they? Furthermore, titans are hardcoded to a max build limit of 1, correct?

Yes, no leveling.

Wait a while for someone else on the max titan. I dont actually play rebellion and never modded titans. I use the iron engine for my own mod and that's it. Titans ruined this game.

I think someone figured out a way to add more titans but it may have been with an ability to spawn ships at planet or something like that.

Best I can think of is keeping 9 max but you can upgrade the 9 and change their meshes with research.

You can spawn more capital ships via abilities but good luck getting the AI to use them effectively. There is a new modifier though that allows for checking if there is available capital slots. Look at the Vasari loyalist phase gate.
