What happened to Global Warming?

What happened to Global Warming?

What happened to Global Warming?

When I put my first above ground pool in around the late 90's we were able to open it in April and start swimming in May.

Now my pool is just opened and still not warm enough to swim in :(

I'd like some global warming back...

This thread reminds me of two dogs chasing each other's tail.  Both parties are convinced they're accomplishing something of utmost importance, while actually accomplishing absolutely nothing of consequence.  Eventually they exhaust themselves and collapse on the floor.  Then, just when we think they've tired of the pointless behaviour, one of them leaps up and lunges at the other, and off they go again.

It is -19f outside right now.

i support global warming.  what can I do to help?

Eat cows, shit in a bucket and set it outside, burn wood for heat, burn your garbage, etc.

Oh, and get rid of all that expensive gadgetry you're using to reduce it.

Not that it appears to work, clearly the planet hasn't been warming in tandem with our massive CO2 output, so I expect we can't actually warm it up that way much at all, if any.

That's OK Brad, you already provide enough hot air. :)

That was a joke. Please don't hate me, but you left yourself wide open for that one. ;)

A major reason those businesses are failing is economic. People can't afford the upfront cost or they can't get sufficient return to justify the expenditure, or meet the needed energy requirements. It's a chicken or the egg issue, much like electric cars.

So much talk about global warming the last decade....and what happens?   Major snowstorm hits the U.S. Makes it really hard to believe in a temperaturerise.

See, that's the thing, there really hasn't been temperature rises, as such, just temperature fluctuations due to natural phenomena... eg: land-based volcanic and thermal activity; subterranean tectonic events causing ocean temperatures to rise; solar flares and sunspots, etc.

All are perfectly natural events and all will continue to cause climatic fluctuations long afer this 'global warming' bullshit has been dead and buried for centuries.

Oh, and unseasonal weather?  Somebody feched up the calendar we use by adding a day that essentially isn't there, and now we're very much out of kilter with nature.

Now that SHOULD be the END of this prolonged and long since unnecessary debate.... let's just have fun.... RIGHT!!!!!

No, no, no ...   It's colder here because it's warmer globally.  Any fool can see that.

Rubbish!!!  It's colder there because the cloud cover has been tampered with by those peddling the opposite theory, thus there is less sunlight and temperatures have dropped.

What you's need to do is go up there in helicopters or something and pull all the tarpaulins off the clouds and let in a bit more sunlight.

See, there's a conspiracy in everything if you look hard enough.

Nah, the truth is, Arctic winds are currently colder because there's less penguin and polar bear methane due to a dietician advising them of dietary changes to reduce heartburn, flatulence and bloating.

Obviously they took the advice.

That one brings a smile, I'd be giggling, but real men don't giggle.

One of these days people will figure out that fascism is alive and well in the US government, but it's probably going to be after we start killing each other for food.

Um, don't think food need be an excuse... there's already ample killing without adding that one.

I'll :X now..... cos that's another debate without end

After 93 pages people still cannot grasp the difference between weather and climate...

Indeed. Or should it be the dog chasing its own tail? Is the dog chasing the tail, or is the tail avoiding the dog?

It's all irrelevant anyway; the world is ruled by cats and, as we know, cats look upon dogs with disdain ;)

The problem is they've been bashing us with global warming this, global warming that, every time we have a thunderstorm the last decade or so.  It causes every tornado, heat wave, hurricane, and usually even the blizzards.  That there haven't been more of them or more severe ones recently hasn't mattered in the slightest.

Some of us find it quite amusing to complain about the weather in jest as a result.

An annual feature every winter.....

"what happen to global warming?" statements....

It's not that there's any warming globally, more it's that humans think it's hotter because they eat too much processed food and cannot now control their thermostats.

Looks like another less know source of extra heat that contributes to both global warming and a less humane society.
