What happened to Global Warming?

What happened to Global Warming?

What happened to Global Warming?

When I put my first above ground pool in around the late 90's we were able to open it in April and start swimming in May.

Now my pool is just opened and still not warm enough to swim in :(

I'd like some global warming back...

You people are still on about this?  Don't you have more constructive things to do? ;)

I'm not... on about it, that is.... got better things to do.

So glad you asked.  Apart from pleading to get this thread locked up and cast into the abyss, I'm into doing this whatchamacallit thingy and.... er... NOPE!

Threads are usually locked for a reason.   This one may be as repetitively boring as bat-shit but that doesn't quite cut it as a reason....;)

Please. Someone do it. Please.

I wasn't being serious...about locking it, that is.  Was more taking a dig at Daiwa..."can we lock this sucker up"...and Cauldyth provided me another opportunity to take another poke at global warming.

So no, I don't want it locked up... just Daiwa for being as boring as bat shit. ;P :-"

That's in line with what Global Warming believers say and what I've read in the media. They say that because of global warming there will be more extreme weather. More and stronger storms, worse droughts and that is what I can recall.

Yup, you too sweetie. :inlove:

Thing is, now that I don't get out as much as I used to, and I have more free time on my hands, I have to have a mission or a hobby to help pass those hours I would otherwise be idle.... and this year picking on Global Warming and its proponents got the nod over sticking it to Google.

Now you might ask what this has to do with you, and I suppose that's a pertinent question given the circumstances, but frankly, it has nothing to do with you.  I'm guessing it's partly that you're here [in this thread]; partly because you may have had impure thoughts [that there is such a thing as global warming], but mostly I think you just got sucked in by the tailwind as my mission gained momentum.

I mean, it's nothing personal, but if you do end up being locked up, don't complain... there'll be lots of pretty nurses to rub it all better for you.

 ;P :w00t:

Me, I'd be more worried about the bat shit getting sucked in and swirling all around

Yup, the 'hotter than Hell' alarmists want their cake and eat it too.... hotting up here and cooling down there... a little above average here and a little below average there.  It's all the fault of greedy consumers and they shall pay... dearly!

The thing is, these weather patterns are nothing new.  They are chronicled throughout the Bible, the Koran and ancient history, long before petrol driven cars and fossil fuel generators... unless all those chariots were in fact petrol driven and the horses were just for show.  Anyway, let's forget about all that: "There's money to be made from our global warming conspiracy theories and we need to grab it fast... before we're proven to be total bullshit artists and 100% fechen liars."

Yup, the CEO of my electricity provider is laughing all the way to the bank.  Before the company blamed the carbon tax and hiked up prices by 21% in 2011, he was on an annual salary of 27 mil... he's had 3 or 4 pay rises since then, and strangely, they seem to coincide with price increases, and he's now on 36 mil with share options and all the perks.  Seems fair, he must bust his arse twice as much as the line erectors who risk their lives up power poles for 36 thou a year.

I just love it... the transparency that allows us to see what the top execs get.  I now know which ones to make dolls of and stick pins in when I start practicing voodoo next month.

:-"

Not only are we arguing about climate change, but we are also now using the Bible and Koran as proof...

Well where else am I gonna get reference material from 2000 - 5000 years ago?  It's not like I can subscribe to any comics or magazines of the time.  Apparently, Moses had one going that chronicled the plagues and his run-ins with the Egyptians, but sadly that went out of circulation just before I was born... and I no longer have access to Jehovah's Witnesses Watchtower since I hung Willy out at the front door to scare them off, but I'm sure if you pick one up you'll find references in it to those biblical times when it was either raining cats and dogs or so hot they could cook camel eggs in the sand in under a minute... and believe me, they weren't small eggs.

What, you didn't know that camels laid eggs back in those days?  Hmmm?  Guess it must have gotten lost in translation somewhere along the way.

Oh well, maybe archaeologists will eventually dig up some fossilised ones for all to see. :-"

At least I only mentioned a couple of books, with no requests for divine intervention... ala, " *** save us..." ;P

Couple facts:

Global mean temperature in 2012 was less than it was in 2001 when the IPCC report came out.

In 2001 the predicted "best guess" temperature was supposed to be 0.60C higher by 2011.

i don't understand why we have these debates still as they've now gone on long enough that he predictions can now be compared with the actual measured global temperatures.

End of Frogboy's quote

lol, I guess even CEOs can sometimes fail at statistics...
