Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion 1.52 Change Log

Ironclad Games and Stardock Entertainment are happy to announce the release of v1.52 for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion today.

Changes include:

[ 1.52 Hotfix ]

  • Fixed the in-game map editor bug where it was offsetting selections if you didn't own the DLC.

[ Graphics ]

  • Fixed Occupation planet mesh and texture to display as intended.

[ Gameplay ]

  • All Envoy cruisers are now really 4 Fleet Supply (from 8).
  • All Envoy cruisers are now worth 4 XP when destroyed (from 8).
  • Fixed bug that would cause non-DLC owners to generate fewer planet bonuses than DLC owners.
  • Advent Rebels - Wail of the Sacrificed damage now correctly scales at level 2.
  • Forbidden Worlds DLC - Added missing strings to in-game map creator for new planet types.
  • Forbidden Worlds DLC - Fixed bug with Population not updating / reporting properly once a planet is specialized.
  • Forbidden Worlds DLC - Added Allegiance to InfoCard system for planet bonuses which modify it.
  • Forbidden Worlds DLC - 'Forbidden Worlds DLC' will now be displayed under the version string if owned.
  • Forbidden Worlds DLC - Fixed bug related to galaxy generation and Ferrous planets not spawning.

[ Misc. ]

  • Fixed in-game map creator so that the Forbidden Worlds DLC planet types are not selectable if the DLC isn't owned (was causing the game to hang).
  • Non-random maps will now properly select available planet types based on DLC ownership (varies per map and if the map called for a random planet type).
  • Forbidden Worlds DLC - Fixed broken string on Ferrous planet achievement (Drill Baby Drill).
  • Fixed bug that would cause the game to hang if someone tried to load a map or save game that used DLC when they didn't own the DLC pack.
  • Reverted back to the ico-reb.stardock.com ICO server as some users were not able to reach the new one.

Reverted back to the ico-reb.stardock.com ICO server as some users were not able to reach the new one.

Out of curiosity, was there an advantage to the new server?

It was more to just make things easier for us to keep track of. There wasn't any performance difference or anything like that.

love MOAR SHIPS!

there are already enough ship types. But having more faction specific looking ships, yeah that would be great. Even corvettes are the same for factions... Shame

out of curiosity when are you guys going to remove the white glows around the research tech for titans and corvettes ect that was introduced in standard rebellion at launch. I get the idea of them being in there for the release as it was new stuff and allowed for quick location but now it is a bit annoying as it makes the research tree very non-uniform.

I didn't see this in the changelog, but big bug I ran into was with the Vasari.  The Starbase mobilization doesn't work. X( Spent a ton of time and research on it and they wouldn't move out of their system.  Ended up quitting the game, since that was a big part of my strategy for that game.

They changed it so that you need a phase gate/node for it to jump? Did you forget that?

It's bad enough with the news coming out about PRISM, and the NSA spying on everybody.  It's worse off you're also monitoring us.  For shame, Stardock, for shame.

It's not like I've been a customer of yours dating all the way back to the Stellar Frontier days, and gave you my personal data with confidence you wouldn't screw me over.  Why kind of person do you take me for? :annoyed:

I wouldn't be surprised of every program followed what you did and send the info to their makers... Atleast online games do that I'm sure...

would be creepy, this wasn't in the final user agreement or how do you call it, though if you are not a person who is thinking about doing bad things (I am not brave enough to use the word terr..) it shouldn't be that much of a problem.

There, I said it...the NSA is now dogging this thread for sure...

Now let's move on...

For those updating mods, 4 strings were added...3 of them are DLC related and are fortunately the last 3 strings...the 4th one is related to planet bonus info cards now showing allegiance modifiers...the string related to the Drill Baby Drill achievement has also been changed (Ferrous --> Ferrus) and can be found by simply searching for the word "drill"...

Is anyone aware of any other string changes?

Actually if you look closely, they are all different.

What do you mean?

Generally speaking, one sub-faction's corvettes will be slightly darker...they also have different voiceovers...

x_x it is so original... And I do know they have different voices, but still.. only 3 extra small ship models to be made... was it that hard? Leaves me disappointed :( though better than Endless Space where 2 factions are absolutely the same...

Sins has far better looking spacecraft than anything on Endless Space.

A very nice patch. I think the envoy cruiser change will be welcome. Also good to see bug fixes!

As a slight digression, patch 1.5 and the DLC have improved the game greatly, in my opinion. I am really enjoying the new planets. The support for Sins has been great.

Agreed! I'm very happy with the support of this game. Thanks for the updates and DLC!
