[WIP][eMod] Defender & Assassins Traits Tree

This is a work in progress. I'm embarrassed to admit how much time I've spent on this but nonetheless I'm starting to get the hang of it. Below is the xml that adds 4 New Traits to the Defender Tree and 3 New Traits for the Assassin Tree.

DEFENDER

Battle Charge (+2 Movement at the start of his turn, +2 Initiative, -2 Atk) Basically this give him the ability to act like a tank and start the fight in the face of the enemy he deems a threat. If he can't quite reach his target he has other new or old abilities he can use.

Stalwart (Gains 25% to Defense each time he is hit in combat, Stacks, resets after his turn) Gives you benefits for tanking

Surge (+25% Combat Speed for 3 Turns) if you are willing to burn a turn you can act faster while getting hit in the face.

Defiance (+200% to Dodge, Stack for 3 Turns) This is deep in the tree and as a tank you will not have much dodge without equipment. However if you are higher level and willing to not deal damage this can make you dodgy. This might be Underpowered, not sure.

Overall this should give this class a bit more of a tank feel and several risk reward buttons for more fun.

ASSASSIN

Lethal Poison (Deals poison damage over time (4 Turns) to an enemy equal to your missing Health) Very early in the talent tree

Paralyzing Strikes (Double Strike at -10 to Accuracy with a Chance to cause Paralyzing Fear to the target) Deep in the tree, cause heavy damage and has a cool feel of power as your enemy can't react in fear.

Poison Dart (A poison dart strikes for double the caster's level (+2 per death shard) Poison damage over 2 Turns) DOT in the Ranged part of the Assassin Tree that is quick to come off cooldown.

 Overall this gives the assassin more of an rp roguelike feel and gives you some options and reasons to take different paths on the tree.

This is step 1 in the process. More to follow, including Assassin next. Please leave me feedback, comments, or help cleaning up any code issues.


You'll need to either create new xmls or add these to existing ones. Anyone willing to post these as downloads somewhere is welcome to do so. This will conflict with Heroic Pursuits as I used his mod to learn for this one. You will need to assign icons if you don't have Heroic Pursuits installed. Also feel free to add this or any part of it to any mod, with or without any credit. Thanks to Heavenfall and Parrottmath for all their help.

This sounds promising.  Is this planned to be compatible with Children of Storm and/or Heroic Pursuits?

Should be compatible with CoS but unless the author of HPs wants to take the code and include it with his mod it wouldn't be compatible with the BGTraits part of HP.

Agreed; sounds like some nice, fairly balanced additions that certainly make the class more interesting.  Assassins however, I'd LOVE to see made more interesting and most of all, buffed with some enticing new traits.  So, improvements to the Assassin tree I'm looking forward to seeing more than anything.

 

And I'll echo Adaban's question about compatibility with those two wonderful mods.  I'd assume there probably will be some issues with Heroic Pursuits since I know that expands the Defender tree.  I won't ask for it, but compatibility with it would be icing on the cake. :)
