Can't figure out if Intel HD graphics 3000 family can run this

The system requirements lab website says not due to only 64 mb dedicated memory, but I feel like that may be ignoring the selling point of the sandy bridge line of cards, that is, 'borrowing' cpu memory for the gpu.

I really want to play this game, but don't want to spend $30 to see if I can run it ;)

Although this is not my main graphics card on my laptop, I can run it on this card

Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000

Display Memory: 1696 MB
Current Display Mode: 1366 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz)

Graphics are set to the lowest and the game runs fine (not as good when I use my NVidia GTX555M . As to the other parts of your computer, I'm not sure if your computer can run the other pieces. I've got plenty of power outside the graphics card.

Under the lower graphics settings I can play the game (albeit minor bumps, but it will run without issue)

There is also a cloth map mode, which is a nice way to play the game if you don't think the 3D view is making the grade (especially late game).

I can confirm that it does run on the Intel HD 3000 graphics card.  Running LH on my work laptop (don't tell anyone), and it runs pretty well.  You won't be able to run it with AA on, and later on in the game it runs better on the cloth map.  I normally turn off the outlines and pedestrians off as well, but it works well for the most part.

I even run it on  an OLD mobile intel 4 series express chipset video (in a lenovo laptop with a core2duo cpu

Thanks guys, much appreciated.  My laptop is an I7 quad core with 8 gb ram, so I should be good to go.  Looking forward to playing it! :)

I actually run all THREE on the laptop, and even occasional sins, but only on low settings(for sins) and no AA for all

Other dumb question while I'm at it-is FE for $30 worth it, or should I just get the newer standalone expansion for $40, or are they both worth playing?

FE is ok, does NOT need dribble, and is supposed to be getting some of the LH improvements backported to it and has some very interesting mods out for it.

LH is good, BUT NEEDS dribble, and the mods are being created(some have been released but are still being worked on)

btw I under rate games as I need to be able to breakoff to earn money

hope this helps

dribble is one of the states of water, and is the cause of a significant number of complaints regarding FORCED updating even when you have it set to NOT update.

FE ... is supposed to be getting some of the LH improvements backported to it

Where did you get that insight?

Well, there's hardly any benefit for us saying the devs have said it if they didn't.  I think you'll find others who remember.  And no, I am certainly not getting paid. =)  If you can get the search function to work, you can find out yourself what they said. =)

*LOL* I wasn't implying that you - or anyone else for that matter - made something up. I just meant that I do believe that the devs actually take the time to do that when it has been done. Coz when there is no time... As they say: The way to hell is paved with good intentions...  B)
