Galaxy Forge 4 Questions

I have been using Galaxy Forge before and now with Rebellion there are few things I would like to ask about:

Galaxy Forge 4 Questions

1) Is there any Galaxy Forge 4 wikia or other info source?

2) Is there any list of all planet bonuses INCLUDING those new from Rebellion?

3) What is this "moon" entity type? Any stats description?

General Questions

4) Is it possible to have more than one artifact on one planet?

5) Is it possible to have more than one bonus on one planet?

6) Is it possible to have bonus like Kalanite Deposits on Terran Planet? I know that certain bonuses can spwan only on certain planets but not sure if you can force it to be anywhere.

7) Is it possible to have the same artifact on more planets?

Nope.

The planet bonus names are the internal names used in the game files. You could download the reference data if you wanted to see what they do.

3) What is this "moon" entity type? Any stats description?

Dwarf planets were originally called moons.

4) Is it possible to have more than one artifact on one planet?

No.

5) Is it possible to have more than one bonus on one planet?

Up to 3.

6) Is it possible to have bonus like Kalanite Deposits on Terran Planet? I know that certain bonuses can spwan only on certain planets but not sure if you can force it to be anywhere.

You can force spawn a planet bonus anywhere.

7) Is it possible to have the same artifact on more planets?

Yes.

Possibly a stupid question, but how do you go about downloading the reference data relating to Planet Bonus entities? I can view them individually in  NP++ but its not the easiest.

Thanks Harpo, Your files are priceless, incidentally I've already been making the most of them.

However, my root problem still remains. There are 66 planet entities in the GalaxyScenarioDef file and 74 listed in game info folder.

If I try and add any more into the GSD file GF will not start (presumably it references to a specific item at a specific place in the data sheet), however I can change the ones that are already listed to relate to to missing bonuses.

Is there a way to include all bonuses in GF?

/Edit

There are actually only 33 Bonuses in the GSD file, which makes a lot more sense as it means none of the new bonuses are in there and Space Ponies is not included for obvious reasons.

The only question that remains for me is how to get all the bonuses into GF

@Lord Shadow

I have a WIP list of all then Planet Bonuses. At the moment there is no easy way to use the new DLC bonuses in GF, but here is a list none the less.

4) Is it possible to have more than one artifact on one planet?

No.

My question is in relation to this. I've had zero problems getting artifacts I want to spawn on a planet by editing the planet and adding it as "always" and "NoOwner" Can I add an Artifact to a starting capital world? I've tried every which way I can think of, even forcing myself to explore my starting world with no luck.

For reference I am using your E4X Galaxy forge, GoaFan77. (love the mod by the way)

Yes, in fact some of the premade maps like Ancient Gifts have artifacts at all the homeworlds. :p I thought they used "Always" and "NoOwner" as well, but it maybe they are using "PlanetOwner" or whatever it is instead of NoOwner. It's been a while since I've looked at it. If all else fails you could open that map in Galaxy Forge to check what they are doing.

Also just a miscellaneous note, there is actually a small problem when spawning artifacts on non-homeworlds. Lets say you place the kinetic intensifier artifact at an asteroid next to your homeworld. If you leave the artifact density at something besides 0, its possible the map might choose that asteroid to randomly place an artifact. In this case it is possible that the kinetic intensifier you placed will get replaced with some other random artifact, as you can only have 1 artifact per planet. So you'd still find an artifact there, just perhaps not the one you intended. ;P

Actually, I tried doing that before I posted. What ancient gifts does is that is has a custom template built specifically for wormhole travel, which I have not seen on any other map. I suppose I need to dig around and try to figure out how to make a custom template. I suppose maybe that is what the edit button under templates is for?

And that fixes one of my frustrations, thank you, that helps me out immensely.

I've got a couple other general questions, if you feel inclined to answer.

I noted that you said that a planet can have 3 bonuses. Firstly on this I've noted that Greenhouse planets seem to keep the 3 I put on them and sometimes randomly end up with more. I'm sure this is because as you mentioned with the density levels it could change things. The question I have is; counting the TEC Homeworld as one bonus, is there a reason I can only get one more to spawn on a capital world?

Related to your E4X galaxy forge; I'm having difficulty spawning the ancient entity starbase constructor. I'm using the "always" and "no Owner" Is it possibly being eaten by the artifact or planet bonus densities?

And also likely related to E4X; It might just be a difference between Terran home, and Terran. But my capital world with full research/social spec caps out just under 900 population or so. but all other Terran worlds I've taken with the same upgrades get over 1,400 without any planet bonus to make the difference. It's not really a problem, just something odd I noticed.

Speaking of E4x, at least with the one i have (might not be the latest) Fortress world planet bonus is crazy OP. 50 extra mines with what you did to them? I haven't looked close enough to see if the mine DOT stacks, but still, the coverage is outstanding.

Well custom templates are basically the same as groups in galaxy forge, they're just short cuts so you can easily place them on multiple planets with less code. The syntax basically looks the same if you look at it from the template menu in GalaxyForge.

I honestly have no idea, I've put 3 bonuses on a TerranHome planet before, but that wasn't on E4X. You should be able to have 3.

You only use "NoOwner" for artifacts and bonuses. If you want to spawn actual ships or structures, you need to give it an actual owner like "Player 1" or "RandomMilitia". Sadly for the latter GalaxyForge doesn't have it defined as a valid owner, so after you make your map you'll need to open it up in Notepad instead of Galaxy Forge and change the owner line manually.

I was actually unaware of this, but on looking at the code it seems this is not unique to my mod. The population numbers for all types of Terran planets are the same as Vanilla, so for whatever reason I guess the devs wanted homeworlds to have lower population from social upgrades. o_O

Ah yes, totally forget about those DLC bonuses. Will definitely have to reduce those.

And the mines' damage don't stack, I tried experimenting with that briefly but they were too OP.  :P
