bluegreen0 this sounds very impressive.

The link you provided to wincustomize isn't yet available to the public. wincustomize uses a system where they have to authorize all uploads before they are available - this usually takes a day but can take up to a week. Perhaps you could provide an alternative download location in the meantime?

Ok yeah I have added it to Nexus as well, I assume that you can see it on there...

Btw how this turned into a mod, well i was adding a load of new traits I wanted to add to the different parts of the game and decided to turn it into a complete mod since no-one had been modding this area of the game.

If you don;t like it though please say :P, Im not an expert modder but very handy with xml files so I can add a lot of stuff but no new mechanics and stuff.

BTW Heavenfall my MOD doesnt work with yours and 'Im not certain why, your mod is massively complex in comparison.

The only thing I have done is added:-

*Ability Traits you use on level up

*4 Spells

*Some renamed weapons with altered stats to find at goody huts.

They are only additions and no changes to the core game. Therefore I'm wondering what in your mod is possibly causing a conflict and how I can change it; maybe something immediately pops in to your head considering you a long term modder :P

In BGTraits.xml you have three unclosed <AbilityBonus> which are probably causing a cascade stack overflow when combined with the many files in my mod.

The first is after line 2764, second after 2797, third after 3118.

I should add that I am also going to add custom traits to the trait tree, so I don't think our mods will be compatible.

This is something I've been waiting for since I first placed LH.  And it looks fantastic so far.  I also really appreciate the fact you modified the icons to differentiate yours just a bit.

 

A real shame though about not being compatible with Children of the Storm (at least in the future apparently).  There is no doubt I will be using CotS permanently down the line.  So there isn't any way to have two different mods that both add new traits to the trait tree?  :S

The problem is that we have to specifically design the trait tree. We tell the game exactly where a trait is going to appear in the trait tree by XML. So if I add something at coordinates x=3 and y=3, then if another mod does the same there's a conflict and only one shows up.

I'm going to use the following coordinates in the General tree (x,y):

1,0
2,0

1,4
2,4

3,5
4,5
5,5


0,5
1,5
2,5
1,6
2,6

If bluegreen0 wants to rework the new traits in this mod to give room for that, they would be compatible. But I'm not asking him to do that, because I know first-hand how damn tiresome it can be to move traits around.

Yeah, I figured the solution would sound something like that.  And I don't blame him if that over-complicates things too much for his taste, but kind of you to display exactly what you have planned.  Thanks for explaining so thoroughly.

I apologise and have updated a fix straight away for the MOD has it was causing Loading errors (those 3 missing ability tags were seriously screwing it up). Hope noone got going on a serious game yet using this well probably not. It will be ok to just replace the files from the new version if you downloaded the old one at least this time anyway.

My mod was Loading before and I messed stuff up, please use my new version as it fixes the loading errors.

BTW Heavenfall my mod works fine with yours now and reloads and everything; it was just that stupid mistake causing it lol I realised the mistake myself too before I read your reply. Your mod is really great btw.


Tell me when you make those trait tree changes and I might re-work or make a slightly changed version to work with your mod.

Ok If you check my Nexus Link there is a file that replaces the file that simply moves the traits underneath my Traits. So if any1 is using your mod with mine they can download it to avoid problems :)

Heya guys released a new version I managed to make a nice new human kinda guy with some custom equipment that is summoned and it works great :)

Anywayz..

0.725 - Added 5 New Traits, Minor rebalancing on some traits, 1 New Spell (Summoning), 1 Additional unit with unique equipment that is summoned, a  weapon and armor piece (stat/colour modification)

Heavenfall's mod is up to 1.0b. You might want to see if you're still compatible; and if so, mention that (specific to his mod's version) at the top of your mod.

You mean, where he said at the top that he was posting about this mod in the LH thread? With respect, that doesn't equate to "I'm no longer updating, here."

And he's been doing all that you asked for. 

 

And since I asked for nothing, there's nothing to lose. ;) I suggested a post that might make it clearer to others if this mod is LH-compatible, so they might want to, you know, use it. Nothing else. I'm not invested in his decision, and just thought his mod would generate more interest, that way. The choice is his, I could be wrong, and it wouldn't bother me one way or the other whatever he does about this.
