Walls of Gilden Quest

I cannot for the lifer of me complete the quest where you have to persuade Gilden to join in your war effort. Where should I be looking or what do I need to do? I already killed Yithril invasion and scouted the majority of the western continent. I've spent six hours trying to figure this out, I need help.

Only thing ive found relating to it is a weak quest camp in the northern section of the western continent. When encountered it gives the option to slaughter some civilians or not. Killing them gets Gilden in the war, not sure if it has any other ramifications. Not killing the civvies yields 100 metal and the quest remains open.

 

The camp is north of where abeix spawns on the road leading to the land bridge.

Yeah I checked the scenario files, you got to kill the innocents to get Gilden to join you. Since I was trying to be a hero I let them live and then wasted six hours looking for more proof lol.

What a terrible way to make them join the war.  Can't some one just say the fallen have WMD's or something.

Hi new to the forums, sorry for necroing, but I am having trouble with the quest

I let the caravan bee when I took first met them, before I had the quest to bring Gilden to war, now the caravan is nowhere to be seen, and I have no way of completing the quest.

Is there a way around this?

No. Any change to the xml files will not have an effect on your current game. The only work around would require you to use give me all items cheat. Then you will get the item that is required to make Markin join your cause...but that will also give you every single item in the game at the same time.

fwiw, if you think the leader of gilden to be a coward, hiding behind his gates... you can call him on it instead of trying to convince him to join.

you don't need him anyway, and he IS a coward.

He is worthless. As are all of your allies. They do nothing, even after I reached god-like levels of power (my power rating was like 4-5 times the strongest guy after me. Who was a lot stronger than all the others.  And whom I volcanoed out of the picture.)

I ended up feeding them with vast amounts of knowledge, money and materials but they did nothing.

So I ended up waging a one-man war and butt-f**** everyone else like a BOSS.
