Site Problems?

Can anyone tell me what the problem is with the site? It's been like this all day. Cleared cookies...rebooted...still the same. Haven't installed or removed anything from my computer...no changes at all. And every once in awhile when I come to the site I find myself logged out as well. This is what I see now on the site.....

I have the same problem, but only when using Firefox 21, with IE 10 it's okay.

Ah, yes, I forgot addons. Well, it's Adblock Plus! But this is new, no problems before last Saturday.

The only addons I use are NoScript & AdBlock Plus. Been using those for ages so it's not them...and again I don't have these problems anywhere else. Yesterday everything was fine.

So do I (using AdBlock Plus for years). But the fact is, I disabled AdBlock Plus today, Wincustomize Site looks normal. I activated it again, side faulty again (no other website, only Wincustomize). And this since Saturday afternoon. Coincidence or intention?

Steve:

Whitelist Stardock, WC and Forums in your extensions. Reboot the browser. Clean its cookies and cache and all should be well.

Well about 7 or 8 pm last night, I uploaded a wallpaper... I see it in my gallery, but no place else. No I didn't check the " my gallery only thingy".  I'm sure just some gremlins in the site, happens every now and then, also with being signed in and seeing I am not signed into the forums, then yes, then no.  Have a good day peeps!

I've said it many times....Adblockers are the number one problem when people have issues with the site.

Anything....anything that interferes with the creation/retention of browser cookies is absolutely guaranteed to cause issues with Stardock's sites.

The only options are to either totally disable [don't use] such proggies...or click whatever 'exclude' options they might have.

Ok...so it was AdBlocker Plus that was suddenly causing it. But why now all of a sudden when I've been coming here for years with AdBlocker Plus and never had a  problem?

And why on occasion am I logged out when I come to the site?

Meaning? My cookies aren't usually deleted...and this doesn't happen anywhere else.

Site cookies can expire for a variety of reasons.

Because "who knows why" always happens... cookies expire and software sometimes loses what you told it. I figure it's the "Club Al" of software. ;)

Ok...it wasn't life altering or anything...I was just curious why it was happening so often on this site and nowhere else...so basically no one really knows for sure. No problem.

I know 'for sure'....as I said 'cookies'.... JAFOCHECK

When a site reliant on a browser's history of interaction with the site is updated/revised/rebooted the cookies would need to be rewritten/updated too.

Tracking is used to let the site show you specifically whether you have already read a thread...or not, etc.  If the cookies are prevented from updating or are deleted through expiry [and not allowed to rewrite] the site will fail to recognize you...and one obvious result will be your sudden logout...;)

I know how cookies work...but no one mentioned the site being updated or anything at the time. And again...it only happens here...I'm sure that other sites I visit on the net are making updates...but oddly I'm never logged out there. In fact this site is the only site in the history of me surfing the net that I even have to ask the question. And again...it wasn't life altering or anything...Was just trying to figure out why it kept happening. ;)
