Request for Orbit attack movement

I know fighters/bombers/corvettes all attack like fighters by rushing straight at a target to weapon range, fire and fly-by, then swing for another pass.  Using fighter attack for frigs/caps makes them strafe straight through and swing around like fighters.  Can orbiting be added as a movement for non-SC/Corv?

That is the "good will" ZombieRus5 is speaking of.

Most of the mods with "dynamic ship movement" have proven that it wouldn't have a big impact on the game performance wise. So i cant see why not. It would be interesting to see.

The ships that benefit from being able to fire while orbiting at their weapon range are capitals with side weapons.  Other than AntiFighter, most frigs/cruisers fire forward only and wouldn't benefit from this.  Scout Capitals are one type of which would always be on the move.

I don't think it would do much for SOASE:R which thinks static 15th century combat lines are the coolest things since longbows, but modders like to do strange things.  Some additional "Chance to Hit" data might work well too.  I'm asking just because the only way to make combat more boring would have been to make it turn based.  -how's that for appealing to the angels of their character through sycophancy?

I feel like this is the appropriate place to humbly request that Unity Mass do chaining damage...

I agree that only broadside capitals would benefit, though it would be nice to see the capital ships circling the target and firing away.

The Kol might benefit also, due to the auto-cannons on the side.  Seems that's where most of the damage comes from.
