One year anniversary

and I are locked in for year two.

Hey folks,

A year ago today I moved in to my apartment after a spell of living on the streets. One whole year with a roof over my head and a warm bed to sleep in. Whether or not you know it many of my friends here helped make that possible. With support and kind words and some encouragement to go along with it. I may not be here as much, my book is taking up so much of my time, nor have I skinned as much for the same reason. However in the year I've been here things are so much better. Being able to actually think about the things that mean something to me rather than sit back and wonder when I'll ever be in a position to do that again. So now I'm looking at year number two. Rent is paid in full for the year thanks to the program I got involved with. Last year rent cost me a whopping $96.00, eight bucks a month. That was due to the cash allowance that after two months was taken away by the dinkleberries in Pa government. This year it is 0 as in zero. All because cash assistance is reserved for two conditions only. You gots to be either pregnant or legally blind. Fortunately I'm neither, duh. So here's to all mine buds at WC. Thank you guys for being here. k6 k6

This is an addendum. I'm hoping very soon, once I get a stable internet connection, to find me a job that I can do online. Since I can't do manual labor, R/C separation in my right shoulder, I figured if I do it that way I can start paying my own way because it irks me to get something like this and not really earn it.

nice to have a good news story out of the States... you guys always seem to have so much to battle against when you're down on your luck....support seems pretty thin on the ground over there.....and, it's well deserved...  :sun:

They are getting better for real. I managed to save up a few bucks here and there and got me a 41" plasma TV for 80.00. This guy I got it from let me pay it off in increments. He didn't have to do that but he understood my situation. I've seen it working and its so cool. Beauty of it is I can hook it up to my laptop as a second monitor. I won't use it as such but now I don't have to worry about a DVD player, I got one built in. Tell you...life is good! Now all I got to do is take the two TV's I was given, one 21" cable ready and one 37" without the cable hook up and bring them to Crossroads. Somebody there should be able to use them. They both work not that they don't. Gots to pay it forward.
