Doesn't work on an (almost) fresh new install of Win7 64b

Hi.

 

I'm having a serious issue with Deskscape8 who doesn't work at all.

 

I have an almost freshly new win7 64, but it won't work.

The app is installed and can be launched, but there's no way to apply a wallpaper, animated or not.

 

However, it is a bit strange, because it is as if something prevented deskscape to work. Because at Windows startup, when everything is loading, he shows an animated wallpaper for 3-4 seconds, and then the application crashes or something, but we come back to the original wallpaper.

 

Adding to this, I have a serious thought that it generate a crash of explorer (though it might absolutely be unrelated. According to the internet, it might be because of a modded hosts file, but anyway, it's not that that will prevent deskscapes from working).

 

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would strongly recommend you open a support ticket go here: https://www.wincustomize.com/help Right under 'Stardock Product Support' you have 2 [two] options, contact via email at [email protected] or use the online support system powered by Kayako. Keep in mind, once you initiate a support ticket almost instantly you will receive an automated response. Do not reply to it, wait for an actual person/support tech to reply. When you create the ticket you may want to make reference to this thread and/or provide as much detail as possible [i.e. what have you tried while troubleshooting, do you have any conflicting software/hardware etc.]. Is it solved the problem somehow?

The same problem during startup - shows an animated wallpaper for 3-4 seconds, and then the windows explorer crash.
Crash windows explorer every time when I want apply dreams.

Any luck figuring this one out? I cant get Deamscapes to do anything, soon as i select and apply a dream, wndows exlplorer crashes.  Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

Try Un-install of Deskscapes 8 and install Deskscapes 3. As far as I know deskscapes 8 was created for Windows 8 users. Deskscapes 3 should work fine on Win7.

DS8 works on Win7.

It is very likely that a Windows update has broken DeskScapes.

You can find information about it at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2670838

If you want to remove this update, use the following steps:

Open the installed programs by typing "View Installed updates" in your start panel

Navigate to Microsoft Windows Updates and select KB2670838

Select it and then select the Uninstall button near the top of the window.

Select "Yes" when prompted to uninstall.

Restart your PC when prompted.
