CursorFX Plus

Hello,

Please could you assist me? I used your cursor programme a few years ago,
and then ceased using it. At the time I downloaded a cursor called 'Net
Surfer'.

I have just now purchased your PLUS version for $10.00.

I am having all sorts of problems with it.

I have downloaded the paid version, but when I try to change the cursor, it
simply reverts back to the Net Surfer cursor I used years ago.

I cannot get the trails to show up either. No matter what I select, it just
keeps reverting back to the surfing theme.

Even when I delete that particular theme, a confirmation screen pops up, I
confirm I want to delete it.. But it just does not delete as I expect it
would.

I have gone to my download page and ensured I have downloaded a new version,
but it still will not work.

This program is compatible with windows 7 yes?

I have also noticed an error message pop  up prior to installation saying that there is a missing mia.lib file on my computer, but the program still goes ahead and installs..

Thank you very much for your assistance,

Michel

Thank you for your speedy reply Zubaz :)

Yes I have sent a support email to stardock prior to posting here.

Just some further info, I downloaded the free version, on a different computer on our home network and it worked fine, with no problems at all. However my issues still exist..

How are you deleting the theme? First, Open Windows Control Panel and navigate to the cursor section and apply Windows default. Next, go to Public Documents/Stardock/CursorFX/Themes and find the Net Surfer theme and delete it from there. Then go to ProgramFiles(x86)/Stardock/CursorFX and find CursorFX Control Panel.exe. Right click on it and select Properties, then the Compatibility Tab. Set the control panel to run in Compatibility mode for Vista SP2.

Re-open CFX and see if the Net Surfer theme is gone and other cursors apply as they should.

BTW, you should uninstall the free version before installing the paid version.

Please see edited post above :)

Yes as you posted that I have just deleted the net surfer files, and am running the program on Vista SP2.

I will let you know how I get on :)

One other thing. I don't think it is an actual requirement but have you tried installing as Admin and with your AV/Antimalware temporarily disabled?

I have now tried everything that has been suggested. I have disabled spyware etc, running on Vista SP2 and am using windows default cursor.

The net surfer files have been deleted, yet the cursor still remains:

Can you press Control+Shift+C to toggle the applied cursor off? If so, try to apply another cursor then. If not, I'm sorry I wasn't able to be more helpful. Good Luck.

Please copy the following into Windows Explorer and delete what ever is there. Then open CursorFX and see that CursorFX package has been removed.

%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Stardock\CursorFX
