Tweak7 Version 2.0.1 installed but keeps trying to update....

.... because it's reporting as version 1.50

StarDock central has updated Tweak7 6 times in 5 days on my Windows Vista system because apparently, it's still showing up in StarDock Central as version 1.50 even though when I launch it 2.0.1 is actually installed and running! How do I fix this so it stops reinstalling every day?!?

PS-Even after uninstalling Tweak7 completely and reinstalling 2.0.1 it still reports itself as being version 1.50.

I've alerted the developers.

Thanks

I am having the same issue as well, and just leaving a comment so I can receive an e-mail when you find a fix.

How long does it take the developers to fix something like this?

If you have version ID issues causing repeated 'updates' go to Stardock Central...click on the 'settings' cog...and uncheck 'Silently install new software [if applicable].

As with any/all bug fixing...the first task is replication, and that can take time.

Since you have the latest version, you can also go into the settings and tell it to hide teh app.

Everything will work fine without you being bothered.

This doesn't stop it from popping up saying software needs to be updated, it just hide's Tweak 7 from the list so that after popping up telling you to update software there's nothing showing that needs to be updated. I've finally just turned off automatic updates!

This didn't stop it from popping up telling me to update Tweak 7. The only solution that has worked for me is just completely disabling automatic updates!

A simple fix would be telling me where to change the version in Regedit!

Hiding the app didn't stop the pop-ups?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\ObjectDesktop\Tweak7

Version=2 might fix the issue

You should email [email protected] then.

Please download and run the following utility: http://sd.stardock.com/SDSupportTool.exe

This is a tool that we use to gather relevant log files and basic information about your computer. Once the utility finishes running, please send the .zip file it creates on the desktop.

I did what you said to do and all they did was close the ticket and tell me "We know about this issue." Fat lot of good it did!

Ok I resent the email! Tell them not to ignore it this time! It was sent from my Timberlane21 at Comcast DoT Net email address from Steve Armstrong.

You can download, extract, and then run the following .reg file. This will enter the correct version into the registry and prevent it from showing as an update available in Stardock Central.

32bit: http://sd.stardock.com/ken/tweak732.zip
64bit: http://sd.stardock.com/ken/tweak764.zip

So download the appropriate file from Post #20 and fix it! O:) This thread can be locked now that it has been solved by the fix in Post #20!
