Editing resources

I have Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion and I wish to edit my starting resources, Yet when I change the values in the .Galaxy file in my game directory, it doesn't apply in game. The file isn't set to read-only and I have the right permissios to edit and save the file. Why isn't it working?

First of all, you should never edit the base game files. Doing so, even just with maps, might force you to reinstall should you screw up the file or if you want to play multiplayer. It would be better to copy the map you're interested in and paste it to the "Galaxy Forge" folder in the "My Games" -> "Ironclad Games" -> "Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion" folder, like other custom maps.

Second, resources are set on a per player basis. On most maps, the player's positions are randomly determined, so player-0 is not always the human player. Thus you'll need to give every player the same amount of resources unless you open the map in galaxy forge and change the "Randomize Positions" line to false. Then the first player will always be player-0.

Ahh I never knew that, I though each map was pre-determined, Will play around and see what I can do, thanks a lot :)

The layout of non-random maps are predetermined, but the player positions are randomly assigned to one of the player positions in the map, unless you change that line I mentioned.
