advice on card reader

sim card / photo n digital camera

friend is looking for solid info on getting a card reader.  One that reads both cards from cell phones, and reads the cards in digital camera (USB). [ Coolpix L-18 Camera and basic cell phone graphic card.]  Thanks all.

You didn't say if internal or external. If internal, your friend will need to make sure there is an available USB pinheader on the motherboard. and also, 3.5 or 5.25 bay size. Also, USB 2.0 or 3.0  I've had this one LINK for a couple years now and works great for the money. It gets mixed reviews but I had no trouble at all with it on Vista or Win 7/64. The only issue is that the SD card slots are upside-down. I have used it with up to 8GB SD cards with no issues.

External, sorry I did not clarify. Looking for an external reader that can plug into the usb port of the pc, AND read the sim card from phone, and sd memory cards from the digital camera.

Never saw a card reader that would read a sim card. They read SD cards from phones.
