Loyality ability?

Does anybody know if loyalty ability is doing anything right now? It seems that planets even with moderate loyalty can be with some effort, flipped. Also, does it scale over 100 (ex: If I am Yor and I get loyalty for whatever reason, does that decrease the chances of riots even more)?

If a planet flips is determined randomly each turn, but the higher the foreign influence is, the more likely the flip is to happen. Loyalty decrease this chance. The higher the loyalty, the less likely the planet is to flip. However, as the chance is determined randomly, there is always the possibility to loose the planet even with a extremely high loyalty. With all things being equal, a Yor planets is much harder to flip, than one of the Korx.

Still, the whole influence-mechanic is the one area of the game, I understand the least. So I may be wrong about this.

If I understand it correctly, the loyalty ability only affects the chance of flipping, but not the influence required to initiate a flip.

So, comparing a Korx and a Yor planet, both will start showing warnings that a "flip" is near at the same influence value (enemy influence about 4 times higher than owners influence). Each turn, there is a chance the planet will flip, it is this chance factor that is modified by "loyalty", the Yor have a strongly reduced chance to flip, while the Korx have a slightly increased chance.

However, due to the peculiarities of "random chance", it is entirely possible that the Yor planet will flip on turn 1, while the Korx planet stays Korx forever. It's just not very likely. On average, you will see Yor planets last considerably longer than Korx planets when under influence seige, but in the particulars you can never know for sure. This makes loyalty an extremely useless ability for the player, because it can never be perfectly relied on to do its job. You're better off pumping those points into population growth or influence!

Whether it scales over 100, no idea. I have no inclination to try.

I might be wrong about this so If I am apologies, but at 100% loyalty I think there is still a 0.000001R % chance of flip at higher than 100% this is eliminated I don't know how true this is but it does seem to be.

This of course can be exploited like heck: you can colenise behind enemy lines to get better planets giving you a real boost to the colony rush

It looks like yeah, the loyalty should have been changed so that having it would give some immunity to flipping.

You will see Yor exoplanets last for a longer time than Korx exoplanets when under influence seige. In the particulars you are able to never know for certain. This helps make loyalty an exceptionally useless ability for that player because it can by no means be properly relied on to do their job.
