I am trying to play online but every time i join a game i get a sync error...
Is it because i have windows 8 now?
Is my game not properly updating?
Totally confused. @_@

Possibly, what version of the game do you have? Are you playing on ICO or LAN? Does it desync as soon as your start or what is going on when it occurs?
I am playing on Ico.
De-sync instantly after I start a game with other players.
Trying to find where the game version is on steam still looking...
It's shown in game in the lower right hand corner at the main menu.
If he's starting games, he can't possibly have the wrong version if he's playing via ICO...if it's through direct connect then idk....
If there was a checksum difference, you wouldn't even be able to join the same game lobby, regardless of whether it was ICO or direct connect...
W8 is not going to be your problem either, at least not directly....depending on how it was installed, I suppose it could have affected the driver for a network adapter, but you would probably have noticed something wrong by now that affects something other than Sins MP....
Making sure your connection is solid can help...make sure no one is torrenting...
We are talking about a desync, right? Not a disconnect?
Sorry it took so long to get back.
I found the problem. It twas desync on ico multiplayer... Thank you guys for helping me. here is what I found for anyone having a similar issue...
1. Make sure Steam is in online mode.
2. right click on game and scroll down to "View downloadable content"
3. Go to tab "local files" and at the very bottom click on "Verify integrity of game cache"
This should solve your problems.
