how to make a modern UI app that ONLY runs as a tile work on the desktop with MM

i have a UI app that shows the time.  i want to wrap that with MM so that it can run on my desktop.  when i run the config for the app, no option to bring up MM shows up.  since the app only runs as a live tile, how am i supposed to get MM to wrap it as a desktop function?

ModernMix will only put something in a window that runs fullscreen.  If the app only has a live tile on the Start Menu then ModernMix does not offer a way to get this onto your desktop.
