Some maps I’ve been working on

I’m glad people are liking the new tactical battle maps.  I normally stick to AI coding but I always found myself auto-resolving battles in FE and felt that if we could just make initiative matter more and get the battle doing quickly that it would be a lot more enjoyable.  The maps in LH were the first tactical maps I did and I’m slowly getting the hang of making them better.

Here are some I worked on this weekend:

Fallen City

Kingdom City

another kingdom city

There’s a bunch of others. I really like the effect they’re having on ranged units.  Don’t come to a knife fight with a bow. Having multiple types of units should matter.

Now, my kingdom for a good fire particle effect. Burning cities would look cool.

I really like these tatical battles. From a modding perspective would it be possible to make tatical battle maps that have trigger events... or possibly make it so when visiting a town we can get a tatical view to purchase goods and stuff... I've been contemplating an RPG mod and would like some of this functionality from the tatical maps (even if I have to wait to another iteration of elemental).

To answer your question: Probably. But I don't know how.

I'm absolutely loving the new tactical battle maps.  I love the maps.  I love the new combat abilities.  I love that sometimes we start right out on top of each other.  I love that sometimes we are randomly spread out across the battlefield.  Keep up the great work!

I dont have LH but from watching DA's vids my feeling is that the new tactical maps are too busy. I liked the openness of the old maps where your eyes were drawn to the players not the scenery.

I wish you'd do away with the pedestrians in tactical battles. There's just no way they'd stand around there with arrows, swords, magic and heads flying all over the place.

heads flying all over the place.

I see that you are using a modded game here :)

But I do agree with Heavenfall here, battle doesn't lend itself to calm peasants.
