[Bug][0.5] Cannot load games.

I can no longer load games in LH. I've put in over 10 hours before encountering this. I can create a new game, but I can't load any save games (and I've created separate ones every time I've encountered a bug for when I do some bug reports later, so I've got a quite a few). Since some of the save games are unmodified from when I loaded them earlier, I know it's not a case of corrupt saves.

Currently what happens is, the main application opens, I choose Load Game, choose my game, it goes through the entire load process, and then the program terminates and I'm back at my desktop.  I do not actually see any in-game graphics. If I choose New Game instead, it will take me into the new game just fine, and then if I try to load, I get a Check Online/Close Program error which is in text form below. Also, I copied my debug.err and Prefs.ini files after the first couple times it happened (before I tried loading from a New Game; link to files below).

The highlight from the debug.err seems to be "DebugMessage: Overran end of MemBuffer.".
I have no mods installed (nor do I have mods enabled) and have made no changes to the game that you can't make from the in-game UI.

I will try reinstalling it later, but I'm going to leave it in its current, broken state in case there's any requests for additional information.  And yes, I have tried turning it off and back on again (reboot). (I think that installing it on another computer that didn't have it before was sufficient towards this end; see first reply below).

Okay, maybe it is a problem with the saved games.  I just installed LH on my laptop and tried to load the game there (cloud saves work, yay!... unless that's what caused the problem, then booo!), and I got the same thing.  Maybe I shouldn't have loaded up my Quicksave first. :/

Both computers are running Windows 7 64-bit and have nVidia GPUs (although different ones, of course).  Aside from that, they are quite different machines.

I'm able to start a new game and load save games from after when the problem occurred (the saves from the new game), but I still can't load any games that were saved prior to encountering this problem.
