So no groundcover at all?

So, seems like there is pretty much no groundcover at all now?  I know it was going to be reduced but it looks like there's basically none.  Looks a bit to plain for me.  And seems the groundcover slider doesn't work so we can't turn it up either?

Anyone else miss groundcover?

:-(

Looks great other than that.

Yeah it looks a bit blah.

I found that the default in the graphics settings for ground cover after the initital steam install was 'none' (or very little) and not normal as in the past.  You can up the ground cover in the settings to get it back.

Did you read all of my post, it doesn't seem to do anything.....?     (Happy to be proven wrong)

I'm betting it was a computational nightmare with the self shadowing and had to be cut for now.  Maybe it'll come back later.

Yeah I suspect it might be something along those lines too :-(

Remember, this is the first beta. They may add more with each release.

They may add it, but I saw in a previous thread that Frogboy removed it quite deliberately, not to be added again. I mentioned already then that I thought it would make for a very bare landscape, but it twas the opinion of a lowly end user. ;)

I think with all the new graphics and stuff, the ground cover was taking up too much memory.

Well LH can use 1GB+ of VRAM now so its possible, FE would only use up to 600mb.

I always turn off ground cover anyway, don't really need it.

I have 4GB of VRAM on my GTX 670. I believe it's a lot of space for foliage, hedges, bushes, scrub, grass, chaparral, thickets and various other vegetal implements of all kinds. I encourage the game to take advantages of my spacious video ram storage.
