Got slow to open modern apps

I don't like the 098 version
It now opens modern apps (window mode) a lot slower than the 096 and 095
You should at least make an option to have/keep the fast open in window mode.
I know you probably adjusted it to open like windows 8 does without modernmix.
However, if modernmix will stay this way, I will definitely not but it.
There shouldn't be any difference in speed in 0.98 to the other versions.
What kind of slowness are you seeing?
v0.98 leaves the recent app in the top left corner of the Desktop now.
I have to run my mouse over it a few times before it disappears.
Just installed ModernMix 096 again.
The app window on the desktop opens fast, but not the contents of it.
The 096 is much faster to open/show the contents of the app.
Also, installation of 098 takes a long time to start.
What do you mean by in the top left corner of the desktop?
Do you mean it shows on the hotcorner app switcher, or that the entire app, or part of it is left painted on the desktop?
Investigations here are showing 0.98 has an extra half second delay on really quick apps to launch (vs the slow apps where there is unlikely to be any difference).
It should be noted that performance of launching modern apps is horrible after a reboot, but thats because the OS is busy trashing the HD while it finishes loading up everything. A SSD would be less impacted by that.
Are you seeing more than 0.5 seconds extra delay? If so, is this on first launch or repeated launches (repeated launches will be more likely to be impacted due to the files all being cached in memory by the OS)
I am running win8 on an Intel SSD disk.
I see 1+ sec slower loading of the contents with all modern apps.
On ModernMix 096 it loads the contents almost instant.
It my be because ModernMix now has the same animation as windows 8 default apps (small balls/
circles running in the top)
Or does ModernMix now runs some online sync?.
The small balls typically means the apps are obtaining some updated data from the internet. Thats not something ModernMix is involved in and is purely app related. You will probably see the same thing if the apps launched fullscreen without ModernMix.
On the small additional delay that 0.98 is causing, we will be looking at enhancing the app loading speed to be more like 0.95/0.96 in the future.
