<IsNPC> ?

Hi all,

Anyone know what <IsNPC> does exactly?

I know that <IsChampion> lets a unit cast spells, and I think that's also what lets them use items.... and activates non-permadeath.

But what the heck <IsNPC> does i'm not sure.

Not sure. There are a lot of legacy tags that don't necessarily have any function whatsoever - but those shouldn't be in CoreUnits, since that file is generated by Derek Paxton's XML spreadsheets. It would be unlikely he would put a legacy tag in for no purpose.

That tag is used on the Henchmen and I have been curious about it as well.

Is it silly of me that I know absolutely nothing about modding this game, but I want to try and throw out answers?  

 

Is it the tag that lets them have starting equipment you can't sell?

No I don't think so.  For that you just have to set it to Autocreate equipment instead of equipment, or vice versus.  I can never remember till I try i out so I know its not that.
