hmmm.. that's still in there. I think that needs to be addressed at some point.
Despair is highly overpowered IMO. I remember in one of my first games I got my hands on two scrolls of Despair. Sacked two very well defended cities without a single blow being exchanged.
Apart from that I had the same thing happening. Thought I wouldn't make it out alive anyway so I hit auto-resolve. Imagine my surprise when the victory screen appeared...
lol, I saw such surprise myself. quite a fast save game action procedure was performed.
