Hey guys,

just wanted to inform you of this great tabletop game on kickstarter. Zombicide is a turn based tactile zombie slaughter (hence the name) game. The original game came out on kickstarter last year and I kicked myself for missing it. Fortunately my wife is awesome and bought me a copy online.

The game is pretty easy to pick up and games can go on from 20 to 30 minutes to a couple hours. The company who makes it is pretty good at updating the rules and adding more features to the game. Here is a link to the company's website. The game is also very flexible, you will be coming up with many house rules and your own scenarios very quickly.

I only have praise for the quality of the board, cards, and figures. I can also say this is much better with friends, just leave the box somewhere out in the open and I guarantee that it will start a conversation. We all secretly want to survive the zombie apocalypse

Here is a nice youtube review of the orginal

The only con I have with the orignal was that I ran out of zombie minatures pretty fast, so I had to purchase some more figures.

Don't be like me and miss out the first time around

Looks like a successful kickstarter.

*YAWN*   This game is SO fucking boring when the players cooperate! |-O   Add that it's cooperative and I wanted their kickstarter to FAIL!  >:(

The few times I played it, the owner and this dominant woman told everybody else what we should do....In practice, it means that your actions are already decided and all you do is roll some fucking dice and move your character!   What BULLSHIT is that!!?   That's the SAME as if those two would have played all characters by THEMSELVES!!!     *YAAAAWWNN*

Yeah, and if you want to do something different than what those two suggest, you can see the annoyance in their faces.

So this BULLSHIT game together with another BULLSHIT game called Elder signs will make me stop going to my local boardgameclub every other monday when the zombicide guy is holding the boardgame night.

That sounds like a terrible setup. I guess it would be ok for the owner and his friend to help out people who are not familiar with the game, but it sounds like they completely take over.

It is true that the game does get easier when everybody cooperates together but there is no ironclad rule that you have to. My group recently came up with the idea with more competitive scenarios. Like a situation where a team of 2 characters max must collect rice, water, and food before they can exit the scenario. The last two remaining are out (so new players can come in). This forces teams to barter, be sneaky, team up, or just play as lone wolves.

Like all co-op games I think the people who you play with make all the difference.

The owner and the woman is not related but she is the type that's like: "I think we should do like this [explains]".

The owner mostly explains before everyones step what the active player should do and how the zombies will move which in practice gives you one way to do things....

Once, we moved together and he said I should open a door for him. I said I haven't killed anything yet and then he goes: "UH-UH-UH you could have asked if someone wanted to play a 1v1 game instead you know". <--- Do what you say or the highway huh..?

Another time he searched a car and a zombie spawned. He asked if I wanted to go to that tile and the damage for him!    It was for the best of the group and I agreed to it but it's those questions which you're not really allowed to say no....
