webcam intel CS330

need driver 4 win 7 64bit

I cannot find a driver for my intel CS330 webcam. Intel no long supports it. MS does not (surprise!) support it. Does anyone have access to any of the older drivers? I really can't afford a new webcam.

Have you tried here? http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu

or, you can download the old driver from here http://www.toggle.com/lv/group/view/kl173863/Intel_Cs330.htm and try running it in compatiblity mode. I also found this in regards to the older driver, but it didn't work for everyone.

you can set the program to run in Windows Vista compatibility mode and it WILL work. To do this: 1) Download the driver utility (CS330.exe in this case) to your desktop. Note: I used the CS330 driver for Windows XP and am running 64 bit Windows 7 on my computer. 2) Right click on the icon and select "Restore Previous Versions" 3) Select the "Compatibility" tab. 4) Check the box for "Compatibility Mode" and select "Windows Vista (Service pack 2) from the drop-down menu. 5) Click "Apply" and then "Ok" 6) Reboot your computer and click on the icon to install. Follow instructions given on the screen.

I went ahead and dl'd the driver from that site and scanned it with ASC Pro with AV which uses BitDefender, and with Malwarebytes and it came up clean. Download and scan it with what you use. Nothing to lose if it comes up clean, give it a try.

Hi Wizard1956, thank you for help. I followed your instructions exactly. When I rebooted my PC, and then attempted to activate the sc300.exe I saw, for a split second, a square window that read, across the middle, in big letters "Loading ..." The bottom left corner of the box had "toggle" written there. Then nothing. This was not the typical windows installer window, but totally different. Windows cant find the driver. Plug n play doesn't find it. Manual find does not find it. All that shows is the sc330.exe. Appreciate your attempt to help, kudos +1, my friend. -e

this site or, http://www.toggle.com/lv/group/view/kl173863/Intel_Cs330.htm will not let you download the driver unless you also accept their tool bar, changing your search engine and home page. If you try to opt out of these 'bundled' items, it greys out the driver download button. So DON"T GO to this site. Not sure why Wiz1956 recommend that site.

Because I downloaded the driver with absolutely none of what you just stated. No toolbar or any other foolishness. I just got the driver and that was all. i wouldn't have recommended it if I hadn't tried it myself first. I suspect you clicked on the wrong thing. If you would like the 4.100 and 6.0.0 drivers, I have them in dropbox for you.

Links deleted..my error.

Both have been scanned with AV, Malwarebytes and Spybot S&D The last supported OS was 32 bit XP so I don't think they will be useful on 64 bit.

I went there. I downloaded the driver.

No toolbar or home page change offered/needed.

I'm guessing you clicked the big green download button. Don't do that.

Above the green download button (the left one), there are 3 links. Those will download without all the crap you say it does.

You get the driver only.

Wiz recommended that site because the driver is there.

thank you all.... appreciate it... you all are angels. drop box? Cool. wondered what those were for. Thanks again....

Yes, Wizard1956, I did get them, I downloaded both drop box contents. Thank you again. I'm sorry about the earlier comment - I probably did hit the larger button. I'm not accustomed to the deluge of data so many web sites display. In response to my error I researched a bit about why these 'bundles' are in there, and why sites will have a small button (or very hard to see link) that relates to the search thread link, but larger buttons that grab ones attention. I think its all about driving hits to another site - and somehow that generates revenue? Bait and switch - how I hate 'marketing,' (deception?) lol. Thank you for hanging in there with me on the driver.

Yep, I call them "Sucker Buttons" and they are designed and placed to be deliberately misleading. A site that allows them deserves to be mistrusted, imho. As you said, the actual download links are very small and easily overlooked. I hope one of those drivers will work for you.

You and I and millions of others, yet the culprits continue to do it.  Like Wiz said, the bright and colourful download links to crapware intend to be misleading so as to trick users into downloading stuff they neither want or need.

Oh, and don't go kicking yourself over clicking the wrong download button... I was fooled by those bright green ones a couple of times... then it dawned on me that the proper ones were smaller/less bright.

Hey Starkers, actually, the correct link on the page was a tiny word, merely underlined, and still in black (not the typical default blue of URL links). Oh well. My radar is on high alert to Phishing - so kinda embarrassed on the driver link.. lemonade down under, really?

lemonade down under, really

Nah, it makes everything sticky.  :-"

Actually, 'tis best in a glass with a healthy quantity of beer.

:w00t:

And I know what you mean about feeling embarrassed about clicking the scam link. I was by myself and nobody knew... but I still went bright red.

Most driver DL sites seem to have various redirects to crap-ware in order to pay for their existence/hosting of the drivers.

Some don't have the drivers at all but are catchers for even more nefarious crap-ware.

The more obscure the driver....the more chance you'll find yourself knee deep in crap.

Just remember the gumboots...and think twice before pushing [which] buttons...;)
