I am about to try this.

I am just a bit concerned that it might break something.

Perfectly, if you don't like it just uninstall it. You can go back to regular mode at any time by clicking a small icon in the top right of your tile app.

Yes the app is safe.  Worst case you could always boot into safe mode and uninstall it as it doesn't replace any files or anything like that.

It should be remembered it is a beta though.
